Yacht deck mould — CNC plug and laminate

CNC milling of composite moulds and plugs

We make 5-axis milled plugs and patterns, and on them dimensionally stable laminate moulds polished to a high gloss. From the finished mould we produce parts — as one-offs and in series.

  • Moulds for boat and yacht production
  • Plugs and patterns for laminating
  • Moulds for composite parts and the automotive industry
  • Materials: modelling foams, MDF, resins, composites
  • Large-format machining up to 16 m in length
  • Mould inspection with a 3D scanner against the CAD model

Three CNC machines — from mid-size parts to 16 m

3- and 5-axis milling, large-format 3D printing and machining up to 16 m in length. The machines run three shifts, which keeps lead times short on large jobs too.

5-axis CNC with large-format 3D printing

Simultaneous 5-axis machining of complex shapes, sculptures and moulds in a single set-up. The same machine prints large parts in polymer.

  • Working envelope: 4100 × 2100 × 1000 mm
  • Precision: 0.1 mm
  • 3D printing: up to 12 kg/h
  • Materials: wood, MDF, foam, composites, plastics

3-axis CNC for cutting and series

A large bed for sheet material, flat parts and nested cutting — fast turnaround for one-offs and series production.

  • Working envelope: 4000 × 2000 × 500 mm
  • Sheet cutting and flat parts
  • One-offs and series
  • Materials: wood, MDF, plywood, plastics
LAMDO large-format 5-axis gantry CNC machine for parts up to 16 m

Large-format 5-axis CNC

Our largest machine, built for hulls, moulds and large structures. Parts up to 16 m in length.

  • Working envelope: 10 000 × 3700 × 1700 mm
  • Machining up to 16 m in length
  • Simultaneous 5-axis machining
  • Hulls, decks, moulds, large structures

From idea to finished part

We work from documentation, a 3D model or an individual brief. We advise on the technology, flanges and mould splits.

01

3D file or drawing

We discuss the project and choose the technology.

02

3D scan

No file? We will scan your part.

03

CNC plug

We mill the master — MDF or polystyrene with paste.

04

Finishing

The plug is sanded by hand.

05

Mould

Dimensionally stable laminate, polished to a high gloss.

06

3D inspection

The mould is compared with the model using a 3D scanner.

07

Finished parts

We make parts from the mould — one-offs and series.

One mould → many finished parts

Selected projects

Hull and deck plugs, laminate moulds, prototypes and sculptures — in wood, MDF, tooling board, foam and composites.

Fast. Accurate. Flexible.

01

One supplier, one responsibility

File, 3D scan, plug, mould and finished parts — the whole chain in one workshop.

02

Machines run three shifts

Shorter lead times, including on large orders.

03

3D scanner inspection

Every mould is compared with the CAD model before it goes into production.

04

Shipyard experience

We build our own boats under the Lamdo Yachts name, so we know composites from the inside.

05

One-offs and series

From a single prototype to repeatable production from one mould.

06

600+ orders since 2018

Plugs, moulds, prototypes and large-format parts for clients across many industries.

Frequently asked questions

Which materials do you machine on CNC?

Wood, plywood, MDF, composites and laminates, modelling foams and plastics (POM, PA, PE, PMMA, PVC). We will choose the right material for your project.

How large can the parts be?

We have three CNC machines. The largest has a 10 000 × 3700 × 1700 mm working envelope and machines parts up to 16 m in length — for example yacht hulls and moulds. Smaller parts are made on our 4100 × 2100 × 1000 mm (5-axis) and 4000 × 2000 × 500 mm (3-axis) machines.

How accurate is the machining?

We mill to a precision of 0.1 mm in simultaneous 5-axis machining — complex geometry included, in a single set-up.

In what format should I send my project?

We accept STEP, IGES, STL, DXF and other files, as well as drawings and photos. No file? We can 3D-scan your part or prepare the model as part of our CAD/CAM support.

How quickly will I receive a quote?

We usually prepare a quote within 24 hours of receiving your description or file.

Do you make one-offs?

Yes — we handle one-off production (prototypes, models) as well as series.

Where are you based and do you ship finished parts?

Our workshop is in Giżycko, Poland, and we deliver finished parts in Poland and abroad — transport is agreed with each quote.
